In recent years, Riot Games has been actively developing and launching many titles across various genres. Products like VALORANT and Legends of Runeterra have left quite a positive impression on the gaming community. Therefore, new game projects from Riot are always of great interest to the community.

Among them, the game Project L (temporary name) in the fighting genre has also garnered much attention from the community. This game made a strong impression when it was introduced, having a highly professional and experienced development team. Moreover, the 2×2 team battle mechanism of Project L promises to bring an exciting gameplay style to the fighting game genre.

And after many years of development, Project L has finally been officially named by Riot Games. Specifically, on the evening of February 22 (Vietnam time), Riot revealed that Project L would officially be named 2xKO. Not stopping there, this announcement video also introduced the next character appearing in the game, which is the Crustacean Priestess – Illaoi.

However, the reaction from the gaming community regarding this new name has been far from positive. From YouTube comments, Twitter, to Reddit forums, the name 2xKO has been deemed extremely bad by gamers and not as good as Project L. Many have even raised significant questions about Riot’s decision to use this name.

Looking at the fighting game genre, the names of various titles often reflect strength, urging gamers to compete against each other. Legendary names like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are prime examples of this. However, the name 2xKO used by Riot seems to not evoke the strength and competitive spirit needed for a fighting game.

Of course, 2xKO or previously Project L has not been officially released, so Riot can completely make changes. We hope that Riot Games will listen to community feedback and find a more suitable name for their fighting masterpiece.
