Alongside the troubles related to the DDoS incident that occurred during LCK Spring 2024, it cannot be denied that the matches are still taking place with intense competition. And of course, this season the tension remains centered around the fierce rivalry between Gen.G and T1. In the recent match day, coincidentally, both Gen.G and T1 took to the battlefield simultaneously. And as expected, both teams secured victories against their weaker opponents. In the match against KDF, Chovy also shone brightly, earning himself another POG point to solidify his lead on the leaderboard.

However, it was from here that fans discovered something quite special. In the Top 5 players leading the POG leaderboard of the LCK Spring 2024 group stage, only Chovy is the only player in this list without any World Championship titles. Notably, compared to other players, Chovy has participated in the World Championship as often as ShowMaker, only trailing behind Faker and ahead of Zeka and Zeus. Especially, in his World Championship appearances, Chovy’s best result was reaching the Semifinals in 2022 (losing to DRX).

As one of the most experienced players, Chovy has proven to be quite “unlucky” in international tournaments. 2023 was the first time in Chovy’s career that he participated in MSI, but he also faced defeat at the hands of T1 and Bilibili Gaming. Moving to the 2023 World Championship, Chovy was also highly rated but ultimately left disappointment as he was once again defeated by BLG. It is worth mentioning that Gen.G in recent years has been a very powerful team, capable of competing for all titles but only able to dominate in the LCK.

In this season, once again, Chovy is expected to deliver. The Gen.G team itself is also boasting one of the strongest rosters in its history, even compared to the old Samsung Galaxy. Therefore, if Chovy cannot compete for an international title this season, it may be a long-lasting regret in the career of this talented player.
