For many seasons, the LCK has almost become a “La Liga of League of Legends” as the championship has mostly been a two-horse race between Gen.G and T1. Notably, the Summer 2023 season saw a remarkable turn when KT Rolster emerged as a phenomenon, even defeating Gen.G and T1 to take the top of the standings in the group stage. However, order was restored entering the playoffs after a choice deemed extremely detrimental – selecting T1 as the first opponent in the knockout stage. At the end of Summer 2023, it was once again Gen.G facing T1, and once again Chovy met Faker in a decisive match.

Recently, during the clash with Hanwha Life Esports, Chovy achieved a new accomplishment: He became the 15th player in LCK history to reach 3000 assists (3005). This is a commendable achievement, showing how much Chovy has contributed to Gen.G’s overall gameplay. In this list, only Canyon and Lehends, who also played for Gen.G, have higher achievements than Chovy.

However, while this is an important milestone for Chovy, in reality, if he looks at his “greatest rival” in his career, he might feel genuinely “discouraged”. Currently, Faker has amassed 4890 assists throughout his career before the upcoming match against Kwangdong Freecs on March 7 (Vietnam time). This means that to catch up with Faker right now, Chovy needs to average about 236 assists per year, assuming an average of 4 years, and currently, Chovy is 23 years old.

Of course, Chovy can completely choose not to look at Faker to improve his assist stats. After all, in the Gen.G lineup, he is currently the primary damage dealer. Therefore, fans may not need Chovy to improve this stat at all. Moreover, if Gen.G continues to win, then Chovy’s playstyle is not a serious issue.

Furthermore, Chovy still has a long time ahead, and the possibility of him reaching new milestones is entirely feasible. Chovy’s goal is certainly still the titles, and milestones like this are just embellishments to make Chovy’s accolades even more glorious.
