Just hours ago, the VCS organizing committee made a new move regarding the negative allegations weighing heavily on the biggest League of Legends tournament in Vietnam recently. Accordingly, this is not a sentencing announcement or the conclusion of an investigation, but rather a list of 32 members from 8 teams of VCS who are under enhanced investigation. At the same time, these 32 individuals will also be banned from participating in all of Riot’s esports activities during the investigation until a final announcement is made. Notably, among these are many names from renowned teams such as GAM Esports (Blazes, Pyshiro) and Team Whales (Gloryy, BeanJ).

Right after VCS made the announcement, Team Whales immediately posted about parting ways with the two players named in the continued investigation, Gloryy and BeanJ. According to many evaluations right below TW’s post, this is a rather hasty action as Gloryy and BeanJ are only under enhanced investigation and there has been no announcement from the VCS organizing committee or Riot indicating that these two players have engaged in negative behavior. However, at the same time as TW’s announcement, both Gloryy and BeanJ also stated that this was a voluntary action from both.

BeanJ (left) and Gloryy both posted similar announcements about voluntarily leaving the team to support the investigation affirming their innocence
Additionally, the announcement from the VCS organizing committee also shook the League of Legends community in Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese esports community in general. Under the VCS organizing committee’s post, countless comments from fans and even well-known figures from Vietnamese esports from other disciplines were also astonished. However, the unexpected reaction is entirely understandable, as this is one of the most widespread negative cases involving many people, and there are many teams, even almost their entire lineup, being subjected to enhanced investigation, such as Team Flash, Vikings Esports, or Rainbow Warriors.

Nevertheless, there are still many audience opinions believing that, as the situation has not reached its conclusion, in reality, these players are not yet individuals who have “touched dirt”. Therefore, the VCS community in particular and the Vietnamese esports community in general still need to stay alert for news, avoiding hasty accusations that could affect the reputation of the players and their teams.
