In the midst of VCS being incredibly tense due to negative allegations, an incident is attracting the attention of the Vietnamese League of Legends community. Recently, former SBTC Esports player – Dia1 has continuously livestreamed hints about the negativity in VCS. Notably, he has even used these elements to create content, drawing the audience’s attention by tapping into the curiosity of the VCS community regarding the backstage controversies of Vietnam’s largest League of Legends tournament for personal gain.

However, everything would be normal if Dia1 were not a player currently facing a penalty from Riot for negative actions as well. Before the current situation in VCS escalated, Dia1 and his SE teammates were occupying the position of “the greatest negative penalty in VCS history” as nearly an entire team (including the owner) was “wiped out”. Just a few days ago, Dia1 even stirred controversy by implying that negativity is quite normal because “players suffer a lot, earning 8-10 million”. The former SE star’s statement caused outrage among many and he was criticized on various forums.

One of the former VCS stars also seems to dislike using VCS as content material, especially when he himself has “dipped” in negativity, as Dia1 did. Optimus has spoken out. Of course, he did not directly name anyone but implied: “There are many people using banners to promote websites with unhealthy content. These people make me quite annoyed. For example, in Da Nang (Dia1’s hometown), I could report them to get them to work. While I know those revelations are false. These individuals seem to be sabotaging and crushing the tournament while it needs to recover”. On his stream, former coach Ren also expressed his agreement with Optimus’s viewpoint and is ready to join forces with the former GAM star.

For his part, Dia1 is not backing down either, as he continuously challenges Optimus and his former coach, even though Optimus never explicitly named him. In a recent post on his personal page, Dia1 shared an “exposing” article about Optimus from the past. At the same time, the male streamer also posted affirming his readiness to welcome any actions from Optimus.

However, amid the back-and-forth “vars” between the two sides, the VCS community is growing increasingly exasperated. The past “scandals” that Dia1 is bringing up about Optimus are essentially unfounded incidents that have been circulated through… rumors or only became known after the fact, and even those involved have moved on (allegations of “collusion” with Slayder, Optimus accusing Zeros of boosting). Meanwhile, Dia1 himself is engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior, contributing to the downfall of SE and promoting sensitive websites while still seeking attention. Some viewers have even bluntly stated: “But at least Optimus has never had a single negative incident in his entire career and still thinks about VCS, unlike someone else.”

Currently, the incident is still attracting significant attention from the audience. Meanwhile, after the “var” on March 29, both sides have yet to make any new moves.
