A few hours ago, Riot Games published a lengthy article sharing insights about the increasingly severe cheating situation in League of Legends. In short, this article revealed that cheating and the use of bots in League of Legends are extremely common. In fact, the situation has become so dire that Riot has issued 85 lifetime bans across all servers over the past few years.

Not stopping there, Riot Games also revealed a “blacklist” of champions that are commonly used by cheaters. Notably, all three champions with the highest win rates in the hands of cheaters are marksmen. Meanwhile, a character considered the “king of hack tools” like Xerath holds such a low position that it’s hard to believe.

“That’s right, Xerath actually ranks 8th in terms of win rates among cheaters. Meanwhile, Kog’Maw, Zeri, and Jinx are the top three champions in this statistic. Additionally, it’s best if you don’t cheat. I don’t want to ban your accounts, so please don’t make me do it,” a member of the anti-cheat team at Riot Games shared.

With a skill set entirely made up of skill shots and lacking good mobility, using Xerath effectively is incredibly difficult. However, with the support of cheating software, Xerath can become a true “monster” as his skills no longer miss. Therefore, for many League of Legends players, Xerath is like the “king of hack tools.”
However, when the goal is to “play to win,” marksmen like Kog’Maw, Zeri, and Jinx in the hands of cheaters truly become a “nightmare.” It’s important to know that cheating software allows players to recognize and avoid dangerous skills from opponents. As a result, these marksmen can freely deal substantial damage in team fights and carry their teammates to victory.

Moreover, many players reading Riot’s insights joked that most marksman players are using these characters incorrectly. The reason is that there have been many complaints about current marksmen being too weak and needing buffs. This is likely due to players not having enough skill to master Kog’Maw, Zeri, and Jinx. While Xerath can cause a lot of annoyance, in terms of the ability to “carry the team” with third-party software assistance, the aforementioned marksmen outperform him significantly.

Through Riot’s article, players learned that the number of cheaters in League of Legends is much greater than they imagined. Therefore, if you encounter an unusually skilled Kog’Maw, Zeri, or Jinx player compared to their rank, you should report them. They could very well be a cheater exploiting hack tools and need to be stopped as soon as possible.
