Even before being announced as the first character to enter Riot’s Hall of Legends, Faker himself was already the player with the most unique skins in League of Legends. Previously, he and Bengi had the same number of skins, with 3 for their 3 Worlds championships in SKT T1 colors. But after Worlds 2023, Faker has surpassed his close former teammate to own 4 Worlds skins. However, with (possibly) 2 more Hall of Legends skins on the way, it seems that this record of Faker’s will be hard for anyone to surpass. After all, winning Worlds once is already a significant achievement, let alone 4 times.

For many years, many believed that SKT T1 Zed was a memorable skin because it was Faker’s first Worlds skin. Not to mention, it is also the skin associated with the champion that helped Faker officially rise to fame after his iconic solo kill on Ryu. However, according to some recent revelations, it turns out that Zed was not the champion Faker wanted to have a skin for at Worlds 2013. Instead, the champion that Faker actually wanted to have a skin at that time was Ahri. But it was Riot who directed Faker to choose Zed.

Many viewers had also concluded that since Faker had never used Ahri, he couldn’t choose the skin, and this belief has persisted for many years. However, this is actually a misconception. Some fans have “pointed out” that Faker did use Ahri in exactly 1 match: the match on the first game day between SKT T1 and Lemondogs. In fact, Faker had an impressive KDA of 10/3/9 against his opponents. However, in the end, the champion chosen was Zed, and it was not until Hall of Legends that Faker finally had the opportunity to get a skin for Ahri.
However, in the end, both Faker’s fans and perhaps he himself are satisfied that Ahri and LeBlanc – the two champions that have been associated with his youth, even inspiring Faker’s nickname, have received the recognition they deserve. The Hall of Legends skin may be a greater line of skins than any previous ones, and Faker will likely not be disappointed for missing out on the SKT T1 Ahri skin back then.
