Thus, it can be said that as of now, the largest match-fixing scandal in the history of Vietnamese League of Legends has come to a close. On a global scale, this case from VCS is also not inferior. Moreover, considering the global perspective, the VCS scandal can also be classified as a major incident. This is because the number of teams with involved members who received penalties comprises all teams currently competing. The number of individuals “tainted” or related (involved in covering up violations) amounts to 25 people. Among them, there are players who are still very much loved by the VCS community, and were even considered the future of the professional League of Legends scene in the S-shaped country.

Of course, given the nature of the situation, the international community is also not standing by. From the moment the list of 32 individuals under additional investigation was released, both international viewers and industry professionals have shown a certain level of interest in the case. This is because the VCS is a region with great development potential, especially after the 2023 World Championship. Therefore, when the official verdict was announced, it was no surprise that the incident was immediately discussed by international fans.

In particular, among the opinions, many viewers have stated that the VCS organizers and Riot’s issuance of penalties this time is a strong blow to Vietnamese League of Legends but necessary. Such a serious incident could not have occurred only in the Spring Split of 2024; in reality, it must have been simmering for a long time. Therefore, some even suggested that if Riot had been harsher, the number of violators could have been even greater.

Not to mention, the VCS is currently a region rich in development potential. If the negative issues continue to weigh down the tournament, it will lead to viewers losing trust in Riot, VCS organizers, and even the players and teams themselves. Therefore, some have suggested: “Even now, VCS fans will be even more excited to watch the tournament.”

After this incident, the VCS will undergo many changes. Teams will have to implement new policies and personnel changes, but perhaps, viewers will truly feel excited knowing that at least they will not have to watch matches while doubting the integrity of the players.
