It can be said that the upcoming VCS Summer 2024 will mark one of the most tumultuous seasons in the history of Vietnamese League of Legends. However, the aftermath of the match-fixing scandal that shook the Vietnamese esports scene and the global League of Legends community is still very significant. Even now, people remain skeptical about Riot’s judgments. Notably, the players who were sentenced have responded in very different ways. Nevertheless, much attention is still focused on several players who were once members of Saigon Buffalo – a team that was highly anticipated by fans as it was considered the “cradle” of many talented young players.

One of the players currently under significant scrutiny is B. From the moment he debuted, he attracted attention due to his slender physique, resembling a middle school student, yet he played with remarkable maturity, confidence, and potential to become a top jungler in the VCS after Levi. However, B. is the player charged with match-fixing and banned from competition for 36 months.

Notably, in a recent post from those close to B., this player is reported to be in an extremely unstable mental state and has even “starved himself”, going days without eating since the punishment was officially announced. For a player who is already small and somewhat frail like B., this action is incredibly foolish. Additionally, according to reports, B. returned to his hometown on June 10, but the concern is evident in the messages shared by those familiar with this player on social media.

In fact, there have been precedents where Riot issued sentences without sufficient evidence and later had to retract them, most notably the case of Sinatraa from VALORANT. Alternatively, Riot may reduce the sentence based on mitigating circumstances and the player’s remorse, as seen in the case of Jensen in the past. However, as of now, neither the VCS organizers nor Riot has made any new moves or announcements regarding the case of the male player who was once a member of TW.

The image of B. small and dwarfed among his teammates yet performing exceptionally has left a lasting impression on VCS fans. However, this has led to even more debates surrounding his punishment. After all, at this point, Riot has issued a sentence. And perhaps fans can only wait to see if there will be a last-minute “reversal” of the decision.
