Recently, the VCS organizing committee and Riot officially released the list of the final 25 individuals remaining after a supplementary investigation related to match-fixing allegations. Among them are many famous players with a certain fanbase in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene, but they had to put their rising careers on hold due to their wrongdoings. However, what seemed like a conclusion has led to a lot of drama afterward. One of these dramas is the back-and-forth accusations between the community and a famous coach (referred to as R.) regarding the real figures behind this cheating scandal.
In fact, the former coach of SBTC Esports simply admitted that he was one of the individuals who filed the accusations and helped provide evidence for the investigation into the VCS match-fixing case. Normally, such actions should be encouraged and replicated. However, the crux of the matter is that Coach R., before the VCS organizing committee and Riot made their announcement, expressed shock and surprise when Froggy and BeanJ were also included in the list. Meanwhile, he was the one who provided evidence for Riot and the VCS organizing committee to investigate his former students.
Additionally, aside from some unverified or unclear allegations, there were reports that while Coach R. was still working with SE, he had committed some overstepping actions. This was disclosed by a well-known League of Legends streamer in a stream at that time. The appointments of Bigkoro and Naul were shared by Teacher Ba as evidence of Coach R.’s overstepping behavior within SE.
Furthermore, in several posts about the VCS incident (before Coach R. admitted to reporting to Riot and the VCS organizing committee), this coach consistently asserted that his former students were innocent. However, when the penalties were announced, and a former student of Coach R. hinted at the coach, he made a post subtly “pointing the finger” at his student. At that moment, the player faced countless criticisms from the VCS community.
For his part, after a series of dramas, the coach who was once very famous and respected in the VCS community has lost everything. His recently appointed position in a top VCS team has been erased, and he has disappeared. Perhaps he himself did not expect that a single moment of mistake would cost him everything he had built over the years.
