Since the launch of League of Legends, many champions have been released by Riot, along with continuous adjustments for existing champions. Among the over a hundred champions in LoL, certain names become more favored depending on the meta. There are also champions that do not rely on the meta, primarily depending on player skills and game situations. Nevertheless, there are quite a few champions that are hardly ever used or have long disappeared. The case of Naafiri is an exception, as this champion was introduced by Riot last year but has almost vanished after just a couple of debuts in solo queue.

As of now, Naafiri shows no signs of being used more frequently, although sometimes players choose this champion if they want a “change of pace.” In the professional scene, Naafiri’s prospects are even bleaker. Recently, some gamers discovered a hidden passive of this champion. Specifically, every 10 seconds, when enemy minions reach a certain health threshold, Naafiri’s passive, Unity is Strength, activates, causing one of the dogs in the Pack to attack that minion, even from a distance. This allows Naafiri to last hit minions more effectively, especially since she is a squishy assassin and a melee champion.

However, what’s concerning is that Riot has not provided any information about this hidden passive of Naafiri in her champion skill introduction, both in client information and in-game. It can be said that Riot is also “ignoring” a champion viewed as a failure in terms of design, lore, and skill set.

Perhaps, for Naafiri, Riot will need to conduct a significant “overhaul,” even a complete 180-degree change from the current state for this special champion of LoL to have a chance to thrive in Summoner’s Rift.
