T1 Easily Defeats DRX, But One Stat from Gumayusi Stands Out

Gumayusi Deserves the Praise After the Match Against DRX.

T1’s opponent this time was a DRX team that was significantly weaker than them, and another loss to such an opponent could lead to even more “backlash” for T1 than the disappointing match against BNK FearX not long ago. However, T1 also faced quite a few difficulties in this match, especially in game 1 when they allowed Aurelion Sol in the hands of a DRX player to become “overly fed.” But when both games were executed according to T1’s strategy, the victory for Faker and his teammates was quite understandable. Notably, Gumayusi shone in both games, especially in game 2 when he was able to use his favorite champion Draven.

Besides the excellent performance in both games that helped T1 secure a deserved victory, the “Prince” also amazed fans with a “terrifying” stat. Specifically, the gold difference calculated up to about the 25th minute of the match between Gumayusi and Teddy reached over 4k gold, equivalent to nearly a major item, just a few hundred gold short. This impressive performance, combined with Gumayusi’s passive always being activated at the right moment, helped T1 lead DRX by more than 10k gold at that point.

Notably, Teddy did not seem to be significantly inferior to Gumayusi in this match, using Kalista – a champion capable of dealing strong damage with excellent farming skills. However, it can only be said that Teddy was completely “shut down” by his younger teammate and former teammate, and despite his efforts, he could not turn the situation around.

With the victory against DRX, T1 has ended the sixth week of competition in the best possible way and moved up to fourth place. This can be seen as a “kick-off” week before T1 faces off against BNK FearX and Gen.G – two extremely tough opponents who have also defeated T1 in the bitter first round.
