DK is one of the most unique teams in the League of Legends scene generally and the LCK specifically
After the conclusion of the LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage, DK finished 4th and had to start their Road to MSI 2026 from the lower bracket, with every match being a do-or-die game one. In fact, one of the team’s goals—qualifying for EWC 2026—was already achieved. Yet many DK fans still hoped for a repeat of the LCK Cup 2026 miracle. However, DK ended their Road to MSI 2026 in a way that was impressive but also left fans feeling “bittersweet” after a reverse sweep by KT.

Notably, DK is the only LCK team so far to be involved in two major Reverse Sweeps in consecutive seasons: first at the LCK Cup 2026, and recently in the Road to MSI 2026. Additionally, they are the only team across the five major regions this season to appear in a Reverse Sweep both as the team mounting the comeback and as the victim.

Furthermore, both series shared similarities: they were BO5s where losing a single game meant immediate elimination, and both were playoff stages leading into international tournaments. This outcome means DK will miss MSI once again, extending their absence since the 2021 season.

DK had the opportunity but couldn’t hold on
In reality, DK had many chances to close out the series 3-0. In game 3, they led by over 10k gold and held a near-certain victory with Dragon Soul, Baron, and more. Yet the DK players themselves squandered these advantages, allowing KT to reverse the situation twice in the crucial matches.
Going from “just one win away” to “eliminated from the MSI 2026 race” was just one small step. DK surely felt the same heartbreak that HLE experienced last year.
