Revealing the Superstar Moment of Doran Helping T1 Achieve Victory in Team Fights
The match between T1 and HLE last weekend was crucial for both teams. Both T1 and HLE needed the second spot to gain an advantage for the playoffs. Ultimately, the victory belonged to T1, which was even more meaningful as in both games, T1 allowed HLE to secure many strong bans and picks but still couldn’t achieve a good result. However, in Game 2, much of the credit goes to Doran.

Specifically, although he played a champion that wasn’t particularly comfortable and primarily focused on split-pushing, Doran still managed to participate in team fights and effectively blocked HLE’s Zeus from engaging in combat. Notably, during the Baron fight, Doran not only halted Zeus’s Teleport but also positioned himself to Teleport down, forcing HLE to fight with fewer members, resulting in their ultimate failure.
Earlier, in the first match between T1 and HLE, Doran also had a similar moment blocking a Teleport with the champion Gragas. He was even careful enough to Body Slam in one direction and throw the Barrel in another to ensure that the opponent couldn’t escape.
Doran is Showing Increasing Compatibility with T1
Doran’s playstyle can fit many team compositions; more importantly, at T1, he is allowed to play as he wishes, and the whole team is ready to play around that style. When Doran is ready to play the weak side, Gumayusi handles the damage. When Doran plays damage champions, the remaining positions become even more familiar. Therefore, many champions that were previously considered Doran’s “weak points” at the start of the season (Gwen, Yorick) have now become comfortable picks for him.

Doran is soaring high, and T1 is also flying high. While it may still be early to say that Doran is the perfect fit for T1, it is not an exaggeration to say that the former HLE star is “redeeming” himself after a tough start to the season.
