Several Streaks Await Resolution in the T1 – HLE Match
Less than 24 hours remain before one of the most anticipated matches of Road to MSI 2026 officially kicks off, featuring HLE and T1. As the top 1-2 teams after the LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage, HLE and T1 will each have two opportunities to secure a ticket to MSI 2026. However, with Gen.G and KT positioned on the lower bracket, the task will not be easy. Therefore, both HLE and T1 are surely eager to settle the series in this BO5 to conserve energy for the journey ahead.

First, since his professional debut, Peyz has faced Gumayusi only once in the Playoffs for an MSI spot. At that time, Gen.G was nearly invincible and Gumayusi was defeated. Next, Gumayusi holds the record of “never missing any MSI season” since his debut. Lastly, and most importantly, is HLE’s streak: they have never qualified for MSI despite fielding “star-studded” rosters from 2024 to the present.

As for T1, not only Peyz but other players also have milestones to conquer. It’s well known that the “super lineup” ZOFGK has participated in almost every MSI since their inception but has yet to claim a championship. In both finals appearances, they suffered close and regrettable defeats. Additionally, Faker himself has been away from the MSI title for nearly 10 years, with his last championship dating back to 2017.

T1 – HLE Clash Could Significantly Impact This Year’s MSI
Given the stature and capabilities of both teams, their showdown on June 13 (Vietnam time) will strongly influence the plans of both squads as well as the fate of T1 and HLE for the remainder of the year, starting with MSI. Regardless of who wins, the losing side and lower bracket teams will face sudden-death matches, as both HLE and T1 are currently very strong.
